to Make Healthy Living a Habit

 

The YMCA of Lincoln has been a cornerstone of community health in Lincoln for more than 150 years. Across four membership facilities, Camp Kitaki, and Youth Sports programs, the Y serves people of all ages and backgrounds — offering resources that make it easier for Lincoln residents to stay active, build connections, and prioritize their wellbeing.

Throughout the year, the Y hosts events that bring those opportunities to life. The upcoming lineup spans a wide range of interests and age groups, with activities rooted in movement, connection, and community health.

YMCA Youth Sports Adventure Run at Wright Park on July 4 Families can climb obstacles, race through fields, and tackle the giant slip ’n slide while supporting the YMCA Annual Fundraising Campaign, which helps provide access to YMCA programs for youth and families in need. Labor Day Family Camp Out at Camp Kitaki September 5–7 Families can enjoy an affordable weekend getaway filled with lodging, meals, outdoor activities, and time together at Camp Kitaki. Learn more.

Youth Triathlon at the Fallbrook YMCA on September 7 Young athletes of all skill levels are invited to swim, bike, and run through the Fallbrook neighborhood in this fun, untimed event designed for ages 5–11 and older. Registration opens in August.

FOREVERWELL® Day at all Lincoln YMCA branches on September 10 This free community event celebrates healthy aging through group exercise classes, wellness education, engaging speakers, vendors, and social connection across all four YMCA branches.

The 18th Annual Turkey Trot at the Railyard on Thanksgiving morning One of Lincoln’s favorite holiday traditions, the YMCA Turkey Trot brings thousands together for a family-friendly run/walk focused on gratitude, movement, and community spirit. Online registration opens in September.

Through the Open Doors Financial Assistance program, individuals and families can receive support for memberships, camps, and programs, helping reduce barriers to participation and making healthy lifestyles more accessible across Lincoln.
