Hello HealthToGo
Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department’s New Vending Machines

More than 23,000 – that is the number of products dispensed through Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department’s new HealthToGo vending machines since they launched in January 2026. The five HealthToGo machines are installed throughout the city and offer community members access to health, hygiene, and safety supplies at no cost.

“The HealthToGo machines are confidential, easy to use and available 24/7,” said Kerry Kernen, Health Director. “We welcome any community member to come and use HealthToGo to get items they may need.”

What’s inside HealthToGo?
Products are driven by the needs of the community along with a focus on STI prevention and access to care. Items currently include:

  • Condoms
  • Pregnancy tests
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Emergency contraception
  • Naloxone (Narcan) – medication used to reverse the effects of an opioid overdose

Each item includes educational information or a QR code that links to additional resources and options for follow-up testing or care.

Simple demographic information like ZIP code, age, and race is collected when using HealthToGo. HealthToGo does not ask for identification or personal health information.

The Health Department also created an inventory dashboard so people can see what items are currently in stock in each machine. The dashboard is updated every six hours.
