LNKTV Health Adding Podcasts
and Expanding Accessibility
Since 2011, LNKTV Health, the City of Lincoln’s health and wellness channel, has produced over 2000 videos on topics ranging from women’s health to exercise programs for all ages and vaccination education. To improve accessibility for different audiences, the channel is adding audio podcasts, making more programs and PSAs available in multiple languages, and working on audio descriptive options in the future.
For over decade, the LNKTV Health has partnered with SCIP (School Intervention & Prevention) to record and air various talks relevant to parents of the school age youth. Topics have included social emotional health, substance use and the effects of mass media. In 2026, the channel collaborated with KZUM to bring these talks to their studio. These new podcasts have covered vape-free voices of youth as well as overdose and suicide prevention. LNKTV Health plans to expand audio podcasting with additional partners soon.
At the end of 2025, the 6-part video series “6 Pillars for Emotional Wellbeing: A Parent’s Guide” was completed. This series reinforces the skillsets of sleep, physical activity, nutrition, relational connectedness, mastery, and quieting, to grow emotional health for kids, parents, and their families to thrive. The videos are now part of MyHealthyMind.com and will soon be available in six additional languages and audio descriptive versions.
As part of its dedication to providing reliable and relevant health information across the city, and beyond, LNKTV Health partnered with Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department and 22 local pediatricians to create a unified message about the safety and importance of childhood vaccinations. The channel collaborated again with the health department, along with local cultural centers, to create water safety PSAs in 10 languages.
